Direct vs regular mutual fund plans

Every mutual fund scheme in India is offered in two variants: Direct and Regular.

In a Direct plan you invest with the AMC yourself (or through a platform that does not take commission). The expense ratio is lower, so more of the return stays with you over long periods.

In a Regular plan the AMC pays a trail commission to a registered distributor. That cost is built into a slightly higher expense ratio. In return you usually receive help with selection, paperwork, review conversations and ongoing service.

Mypoonji is a registered Mutual Fund Distributor (ARN 843303). When you invest through us you are typically in Regular plans; we may earn commission from the AMC. We disclose this clearly so you can weigh the cost of advice against the value of the conversation.
